Hey there, I’m Clarissa…

Capturing the Real You with Photos that Tug on the Heart Strings

I’m a wedding photographer and small business coach with big dreams (and big plans to make them happen!)

Very into: windows down in the summer breeze, deep conversations over a warm drink, big dog guy (cats are welcomed too), chasing sunsets, and doing the inner work to show up as my best self for my clients.

If you think we'd click, say hello!

They Say a Picture is Worth a Thousand Words,

but I’d argue a good photo is worth so much more. While a photograph may tell an obvious story at first glance, such as…

  • the newlyweds stealing an intimate glance while surrounded by family and friends;
  • a mother-to-be embracing her growing belly;
  • or a budding entrepreneur stepping into their confidence…

…A deeper look unlocks a whole other world of emotions and memories.

I believe photography has this uncanny ability to awaken the senses.

The longer you look at an image, the more you’re able to remember every sight, sound and scent. From the texture of your dress against your skin to the smell of the sweet summer breeze in the air. The butterflies in your stomach to the echoes of laughter from loved ones.

I believe photography has the power to make the intangible, tangible. To eternalize emotion into something you can hold, touch and hang on the wall.

You deserve to relive life’s most beautiful moments over and over again.

Which is why I love capturing your story through intimate, authentic, curated-yet-candid photography that will make you feel truly seen.

my background

You might say that artistic endeavours run in my blood.

After all, my mom is a freelance illustrator and artist who used to bring me along to the art camp she taught when I was a kid. I remember studying the greats—Van Gogh, and Degas—and being fascinated by how an artist could take a blank canvas and transform it into stunning imagery rich in story.

I went on to pursue art in school, majoring in Art History in my undergrad. And although I love the artistic side of my job, I started Golden Hour Photo Co. out of a fiery passion for business. Enter my entrepreneurial era.

At 20 years old, I scaled my summer painting franchise into a half-a-million-dollar venture, managing ten full time employees for three summers in a row. I went on to work as a business coach with that franchise company, empowering other ambitious entrepreneurs with the confidence and knowledge needed to start and scale their businesses. I learned invaluable lessons about working with different personalities and the power of systems, to name just a few.

My business background brings a pragmatic yet fun energy to my shoots. I love showing up to weddings with a well-practiced schedule, taking the pressure off the bride and groom. While my people management skills work magic with your family and friends, my creative side allows me to capture those fairy-tale in-between moments no shot list could ever account for. So, when you see your photos for the first time, you’ll be able to relive every moment—even the ones you weren’t expecting.

The best part? I’ve led hundreds of shoots, from engagements and weddings to family and branding shoots. If you’re feeling a little nervous in front of the camera, don’t worry. Think of me as your photography mentor. I’ll be there every step of the way, making sure you feel comfortable and, most importantly, like yourself.

I can’t wait to start capturing your life’s story!

three fun facts about me

I'm an INFJ

If you’re familiar with the Myers Briggs personality test, I am an INFJ (and if you are not, I highly recommend you to take it). While some people think being introverted means you're shy, I'm actually quite comfortable chatting with just about anybody. I love my alone time to recharge though. Being an INFJ makes me more observant and empathetic towards others! No matter your personality type, I've learned that the best way to capture authentic photos is by creating a relaxed and fun environment, rather than stiff posing. So, if you're worried about feeling awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera, don't worry! I’ve got you.

The travel bug bit me

One of the things I love most about my job is the opportunity to travel to stunning venues and different cities, capturing unforgettable moments along the way (yes, I do shoot destination weddings!)

Throughout my life, I've been incredibly lucky to have lived in 4 different countries including my home country in Canada, as well as the US, England and Italy. The travel bug definitely bit me, and I dream of visiting all of the continents (including Antarctica) someday!

I love good tunes

Music has a way of transporting me to a creative space. I grew up as a competitive dancer, so I understand how rhythm and music are an important part of creating an experience for you. I personally love folk + rock country, indie, classic rock and acoustic tunes. Think Chris Stapleton, Shania Twain, Fleetwood Mac, and Noah Kahan.

During our photo session, I’ll bring along my bluetooth speaker and we’ll blast your favourite tunes as you make memories and I capture them all!
